Vel Tech is well-known for its renowned educational practices, which has been recognized and endowed with several awards. The founders of the Institution, Col. Prof. Vel. Dr. R. Rangarajan Chancellor & Founder President and Dr. Sagunthala Rangarajan Foundress President believes in Education for All despite their financial means which will promote and uplift the society. In accord to their vision, Vel Tech Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship scheme was started and has supported students since the inception. Vel Tech has bestowed 9500 scholarships worth approximately Rs. 35 Crores until 2019.
Office of International Relations at Vel Tech has been set, to promote relations with renowned Institutions globally. It provides an opportunity for students to complete a part of their degree programs and a platform for the faculty members to collaborate for various activities like joint research, joint publication, joint funding support, etc., with peers at foreign Universities. Office of International Relations at Vel Tech has established working relations with more than 530 institutions across 56 countries and has entered Memorandum of Understandings (MoU’s) with more than 170 Universities/Organizations for various Joint Academic activities, Research collaborations, Student and Faculty Mobility.
Our strategic objectives in the context of International Relations are:
The International Office at Vel Tech coordinates bilateral Research and Academic programs with Universities / Institutions Abroad
• Establish new collaboration with Universities Abroad and maintain the existing collaborations active
• Exchange of Students, Scholars, and Faculty members with the partner Universities to enhance mobility.
• Support and connect the likeminded Researchers at Partner Universities Abroad
• Student mobility through twinning program, joint degree, dual degree etc.
• Foreign Language Courses by Native Language Speaking Foreign Tutors
The School imparts knowledge in Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering and allied areas. The programmes offered by the school are designed and developed in close interaction with Industry partners like C-DAC, FRCI, RAI, NASSCOM etc., with the aim to produce illustrious engineers of fine caliber and enabling them to occupy the prestigious position in Industry. Many of the faculty members of the school are doctorates from reputed Institutions from India and Abroad.
Students of the School actively participate in reputed National clubs such as Robotics club and Small Device programming club to enthuse and bring out their skills. The students are involved in Nationally significant projects namely Small Satellite projects in collaboration with International Industries in France, Germany etc..
