Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology is committed to advancing knowledge and addressing major societal challenges through high-quality research across diverse scientific disciplines. The University places special emphasis on thrust areas and emerging domains of science, technology, humanities, management and law.

The Office of Research Studies, established in 2009 as a dedicated entity, has been instrumental in fostering a vibrant research ecosystem and producing well-trained research scholars. The Office is headed by the Dean – Research Studies, who is responsible for supervising, coordinating and ensuring that all research activities are conducted in accordance with established ethical standards and academic integrity.

The University offers research programmes leading to the award of the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in the fields of Engineering and Technology, Sciences, Humanities, Management and Law. Admissions to the Ph.D. programme are conducted twice every year, during the Summer Session and Winter Session.

The entire application process is carried out online, ensuring transparency and efficiency. Admission to the Ph.D. programme is granted strictly on the basis of merit, in accordance with the University’s regulations and admission procedures.
