Col.Prof.Vel. Dr.R. Rangarajan
Chancellor
As Chancellor, he instituted Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarships to ensure that the poor but meritorious are not denied such access. In order to ensure that every student of these institutions is industry ready, he has implemented many novel and unique programmes incorporated in the curriculum. By his personal intervention and perseverance, he has successfully penned MoUs with reputed Universities and Research establishments all over the world to enable faculty and student enrichment by faculty and student exchange programmes and Interactions with more than 2500 industrial establishments for compulsory industry internships for all engineering students and consultancy arrangements.
A National scholarship holder and a Ph.D. from IIT Delhi, Prof. Rajat Gupta, 1959 born, has served as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NIT Silchar 1996. He was a Professor (HAG) at NIT Silchar. He also served as the Director of NIT Srinagar, NIT Mizoram and NIT Silchar. He has produced 17 Ph.D.s and many M. Tech students. Presently three Ph.D. Scholars are working under him. He has 2 patents and also published more than 200 papers in National / International Journals and conferences.

A person known for his dedication and integrity.
Dr. R. Sivaraman received his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Annamalai University, Master of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from Annamalai University and Ph.D in the Faculty of Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University.
With over 27 years of Academic & Industry experience, he has proficient expertise in the domain of academic administration. He has served in Vel Tech as Controller of Examinations and at Anna University in various capacities as Assistant Registrar, Deputy Registrar-Administration, Deputy Director, Special Officer and also as Project Officer – Campus Development.
He has over 30 research publications to his credit and is the member in many professional societies such as IEEE, IAENG, ACEEE, ISTE and ACM. His research interests include Internet Security, Big Data reliability and performance analysis.
Prof. Dr. E. Kannan, Registrar of Vel Tech. He obtained his Ph.D from NIT, Trichy in the year 2006. His research interest spans across computer networking and parallel computing. Much of his work has been on improvising the understanding, design and the performance of parallel and networked computer systems, mainly through the application of data mining, statistics and performance evaluation. He has published many journals in both international journals and conferences. He began his career in 1991 and has held various responsible positions in reputed institutions. He is also a member in many professional’s society and a senior member in IEEE.
